| Every April Adnan Sarhan has held Drum concerts in Madrid in The Cultural Center and over five hundred people attend with people having to be turned away from lack of room. Belly dancers from around Spain have come to dance with Adnan and to perform to his unique drumming and finger cymbals. There is no rehearsal, no choreography, no one really knows what will happen but because of this the event is a unique insight into what can happen when dancers can follow their own language and create an expression of what is inside them in that moment. Being involved in these concerts and seeing the quality of the dancers that come, seeing new dancers given the chance to dance, has made me respect the way of a dancer and what they can create with the right musician. | I met up with Kaeshi in New York, over veils, and we spent a good time oohing and aahing over all the veil colors and blends. A long time passed and an email appeared with a wonderful photo of all these women dancing in a public square in Manhattan, with blue veils on their hips. We met again to talk about "Pure", a rapidly growing community of women who dance together in public spaces for world peace. To express my affiliation and appreciation for this group I offer the blue veil "Skywater" at a discounted price. It is the color that the organization uses for their performances. Any movement that helps to express and support the desire for world peace is a worthwhile movement, especially when it involves moving the hips, the belly and the community spirit.
